On Sunday night I sat through over 4 hours of the Oscars. It is a bit of an annual tradition for me, as I love movies and I love to see the artists get the recognition and accolades that they deserve.

This year 2 of my favorites were winners, Helen Mirren, who I adored the moment I saw her on Calendar Girls, and Jennifer Hudson.
Though I haven’t seen either of the movies (The Queen and Dreamgirls), from what I’ve been told, both stars deserved their Oscars.

3 years ago, Jennifer Hudson was booted off American Idol. Simon Cowell, as usual, was rude to her. But there was something better in store for Jennifer. Look at her today. She’s a bigger star then any of the former “Idols”. And when she sings, she pours her whole heart and soul into the song. What a voice! Way to go, Jennifer! You are an inspiration to young women everywhere.
