My Fall and Winter Movie Picks

Posted by Karen - November 20th, 2006

I was looking over a list of movies that open this month and next and after watching a few trailers, I’ve decided there are some which I’d really like to see. It looks like I’ll be heading to the local theater to catch at least a couple of them.

First and foremost, I want to see Bobby. I was very young at the time of Bobby Kennedy’s assassination, but I remember how profoundly it affected people, not just in the US but everywhere.

One of the big attractions for me is the all star cast and the fact that the actors felt it was an important enough movie to be a part of and they all worked for scale. Any movie that has Anthony Hopkins in it, I want to see. The man is brilliant! Also sweetie Elijah Wood of LOTR fame is one of the 22 characters in the movie’s story about what happens to each of them on that fateful day at the Ambassador Hotel.

The number two must-see movie is a toss-up. I love fantasy and sci-fi so I may decide to check out The Fountain. Or I may just check out the chick-flick The Holiday with Kate Winslet who I love, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law and funny guy Jack Black, for some light comedy and romance.

Other films that have piqued my interest are 10 Items or Less starring Morgan Freeman and The Good German with George Clooney and Cate Blanchett.

I’m sure there are others I’d like to see but I’ll most likely wait until they’re on satellite TV or available on DVD.

What 2006 movies are on your must-see list?
