Valentine’s Snow Day

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Here in the Niagara Region of Ontario we are having a snow day. All the schools are closed so kids are happy. The snow has been falling all night and it’s actually worse now. High winds are causing snowsqualls making driving extremely treacherous and news advisories are warning people to stay off the roads if possible. My driveway has drifts has high as 3-4 feet! Time to get out the snowblower! My partner is getting ready to do that as I write this.

Of course, many people ignore the warnings and try to get somewhere in a hurry, and then they end up in some ditch somewhere or worse. For our family, it’s a perfect day to just relax, keep warm, enjoy each other’s company and count our blessings. We have enough food, we have heat, so there’s no reason to worry about anything.

Apparently some northern states in the US have it worse than us. Some parts of New York state, for example, already were buried before this latest storm, so they are getting another dumping. Yikes!

So be safe, stay at home if you can, and show the people you care about how much you love them.
