More About WordPress 2.7

December 19th, 2008

The best advice I can give to anyone starting out using WordPress is to just spend some time in the Dashboard area. I mean really take your time and click things. Don’t worry about whether you are going to mess up, because you can’t really, and even if something does go wrong, it can be fixed. Near the top right of your screen in the Dashboard, there is a help button you can use anytime you need to. And there are so many people in the WordPress community who are willing to help.

And then there’s me :) I love WordPress. I make a living from my blogs like many others do, so I learned everything I could about WordPress. Oh, I’m sure I can still learn new things. I’m not a know-it-all, but I do catch on really quickly. And when I do, I gladly pass on the little nuggets of info to you, my valued readers.

I found a neat video on WordPress 2.7 that caught my eye, so I thought I would share it with you. Enjoy!

Weighing in on WordPress 2.7

December 18th, 2008

Well I ran into a few minor glitches when I upgraded, but once they were ironed out, I had one word to say about WordPress 2.7:
wow!

The Dashboard looks really slick, but those of you who are newbies or not so tech-savvy might find it a little confusing at first. That’s because the layout has completely changed from all other versions of WordPress.

But don’t worry, this latest version of WordPress is actually designed to make your life easier. Once you master how to use WordPress 2.7, you won’t be needing anyone to help you with future upgrades, for example.

Yes, that’s right. No more waiting for Cpanel to catch up to WordPress upgrades, or no more FTP-ing of the core files needed to upgrade. You just click a couple of buttons from within your WordPress 2.7 Dashboard, and you’re done. (Tools>>Upgrade)

If you are new to WordPress, or you are an existing WordPress user who is not so tech-savvy, and you need some hand-holding, tomorrow I’m going to share with you how I can help you become 100% comfortable using WordPress.

Once you have learned how to use this amazing tool to your advantage, you might become as passionate about WordPress as I am. And you might even start earning a real living from your blog, like many people already are.

Stay tuned.
