Song and Sentiment for the Weekend

February 21st, 2009

U2 is definitely in my top 10 list of favorite bands, past and present. They are in good company with Led Zeppelin, Heart, Pink Floyd, Queen, Yes, The Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, The Who, and The Moody Blues rounding off my top 10 choices.

Actually it’s quite difficult to even choose the top 10 best bands ever because over the years my tastes evolved. I used to really like Motown and Folk music a lot, and I still love the Blues, so I left out some phenomenal musicians in this list.

Lately I listen to a lot of instrumental new-age stuff to relax me. Because I’m self-employed, there can be some challenges and sometimes I need to just unwind and listen to some soothing sounds.

Anyway, this particular song by U2 is awesome with it’s message of hope and caring. This is a live version and I hope you enjoy it! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Thanks for the listen. U2 is one of my favorites. Bono’s influence rocks the world.

You have some of the same top ten as I do.
The top of my list is Mark Knopler..lead singer of Dire Straits. Listened to his new CD last night.

    Hi Sheila,
Mark Knopler is awesome! Yes, that is the problem with top 10 lists, there’s always someone good you’ve left out. II left out Eric Clapton, who I just think is fantastic. Oh well, he’s in the top 20 . :)
