Don't Worry What People Think
One thing I’ve learned over time is that you are never going to please everyone. On the Internet you really have to be careful what you post in public if you don’t want to attract the wrong kind of attention and you can’t take criticism.
I posted something recently in a public forum in defence of another person and some small-minded person went looking for something on me. And they found something. It was a mistake I made giving credit for something to the wrong copyright owner. I took care of it right away, of course!
The point is, no matter how hard you try to be a good person, or you try to be kind, someone is not going to like you. Maybe they are jealous, maybe they are just troublemakers. Who knows?
I care about what my family, friends, and clients think of me. I care about my blog readers. Do I think the whole world is going to love me? No way! People are fickle. Look at how celebrities are treated. Their life is under a microscope. If they do something wrong, the media has a field day. Bad news and scandalous stories make money, after all. How sad! No wonder I barely watch or listen to news anymore.
There are many mean people in this world. I don’t worry about them. Because I know for every 1 mean person, there’s thousands and thousands of really nice, caring people out there. The mean person is basically good at heart too. I choose to see the good in people and I choose not to worry too much anymore about what people think about me.
How do you feel about this topic? Do you go around trying to please everyone?

You can’t please everybody – don’t let criticism worry you. Which brings to mind, when we say “Thank goodness for free speech” we often do not take the possible cost of the emotional effect thereof into account. Be that as it may, what I find real silly are all those thoughtless comments on particularly YouTube; truly thoughtless. Fortunately, the wonderful thing about life is that mostly only the wonderful things survive and thrive.

thank you, Jimmy, for visiting and your kind comment, particularly the part about “the wonderful thing about life is that mostly only the wonderful things survive and thrive”. I think that’s what keep most everyone going. I know that’s how I’m able to persevere despite all of life’s many challenges.

Care about what the ‘good guys’ think, ignore the rest. This is a motto that seems to work well for me.

((((HUGS))))
I have to agree with Jimmy and Lyndi! Everyone is a critic. Just be true to yourself and realize that the only people who really matter are those who are in your life and who love you.
