Another WordPress Upgrade

January 17th, 2007

The WordPress development team have been busy lately. Around 10 days ago I upgraded to version 2.0.6 and today I just upgraded to the latest version, 2.0.7. This version fixes certain PHP security vulnerabilities as well as a Feedburner issue that was present in 2.0.6. While I’m grateful that the WordPress developers are continually working on security issues, I will be happy when WordPress 2.1
is released so hopefully we won’t have to upgrade again for a while.

Not that upgrading is so hard really. Documentation for upgrading is outlined clearly and most WordPress users should be able to follow the instructions easily enough. I’d rather not have to worry about it and just get down to the business of blogging.

Should you upgrade? Most definitely. If you’re serious about blogging and you want the best stability and security, take 5 minutes out of your time and just do it.
