Are You Ready for WordPress 2.3?

September 22nd, 2007

One thing is certain: the developers of WordPress work hard to continually improve it. Getting prepared for yet another upgrade is no big deal. The usual precautions should be implemented like backing up your blog, and checking to see which of your plugins are compatible with this latest WordPress version.

I hope the plugin authors are on the ball and upgrading their plugins over the weekend in preparation for the release of the new version of WP. I am particularly interested in the progress of the Google Sitemaps plugin as it is one I find extremely useful.

Are you upgrading to 2.3 and if so, are you able to do it on your own? You know I’d be happy to help you. ;)

Hey Karen. I’m prepared for WordPress 2.3 and so is my SRG Clean Archives plugin :)

I suspect a lot of plugins will break but in the past few days it seems more plugin authors are checking their plugins against the latest build of WordPress.

Now if we can only get people to upgrade to the 2.2/2.3 branch away from the 2.0.x branch, we can stop worrying about supporting old versions of WordPress.
