If You Love Blogging Like I Do, Anything Is Possible

November 26th, 2008

Seriously, it doesn’t take much to make some money on the internet. Sure you can buy all the guru products that promise you thousands, but unless you have deep pockets, chances are very few of those guru programs are going to work for you.

So the low cost – get rich slower method is blogging. Blogging is great because you can blog about anything at all: your passions, your hobbies, videos, your products and services, your niche!

Niche blogs are gold mines. And the start-up is so inexpensive. You register your domain, you get low-cost hosting with cPanel so you can do a one-click install of WordPress. You can be up and running in an hour. You can start off by using a free WordPress theme, which you can pay someone to modify for you, if you like, or learn to tweak the theme’s CSS and WordPress theme files yourself, if you’re ambitious.

Start pumping in content into your blog. Once you have around 20 posts, start submitting your blog everywhere: blog directories, RSS directories, social bookmarking sites, search engines, etc. Make sure to open up a Feedburner account and burn your feed.

There are different ways to monetize a blog. If you get a decent amount of traffic, you can sell advertising. You can sell your services. You can use Google Adsense. You can have a paid membership site. You can do affiliate marketing. You can sell your own info products. Anything is possible with a blog and your success does not have to cost you a fortune to achieve.

Now here’s the secret to big money: once you have one blog making you money, you create another blog in a different niche. So if you have one blog making you $500 per month, well what’s stopping you from having 10 more blogs doing the same or better. Some niches make more money than others. It doesn’t matter. The quality of the content of your blog is what does. Just rinse and repeat. Even if you have to hire a couple of students eventually to help you manage your blog empire, it’s worth it, don’t you think?

So now I’ve given you some insight as to what I’m quietly doing. I own 6 other domains – all in various stages of development, and all in different niches. I have the patience and persistence to work at this and build multiple blogs all earning income. After all, I wouldn’t mind if in 2 years time just one of the niche blogs I own is worth a fraction of what Bankaholic sold for.

I hope I’ve inspired you to think about building your own blog empire. Do it one blog at a time, but do it.

Happy blogging,
Karen :)
