WordPress 2.5.1 Upgrade

Posted by Karen - April 29th, 2008

Since I haven’t really noticed too many bugs in WordPress 2.5, I decided to just replace the 3 critical files which were security issues as per the WordPress announcement:

If you are interested only in the security fixes, you can download these corrected copies of wp-includes/pluggable.php, wp-admin/includes/media.php, and wp-admin/media.php. Replace your existing copies of these files with these new copies.

I still have the notification in my dasboard to upgrade to 2.5.1 and I will do that when I get more time. I feel I’ve taken the necessary steps for now to ensure my blog is secure.

I don’t know how you feel, but as much as I love WordPress, I think it gets a little tedious having to upgrade so often, because I have more than one blog to worry about. I shouldn’t complain, though, because in my opinion, the dev team at WordPress are fantastic and work hard to give us a free top notch blogging application.
